Coaching tip from Coach Bill LeachRUN WISELY WITH THE WIND

Run point to point courses when training with hefty Winds, by running with a “Tail Wind” throughout the run and returning to your home or desired destination via wheeled transportation.

When running loop or out and back courses become a “WISE WIND RUNNER!”   Take what the WIND will give you –

Ø       Allow a “Tail-Wind” to push you to a faster pace

Ø       Relax into a “Head-Wind”, accepting a slower pace – do not waste precious energy by pushing too hard against a “Head Wind”!

Ø       Allow “Cross-Winds” to dictate your pace – accelerate when you receive a push you and relax when a “Cross Wind” is imposing too much resistance
